I am a First Officer with American Airlines here in NY. My Dad is selling his

 Home in the Pocono’s

where I sat out my reserve days. Two hours door to door EWR. That includes traffic and observing speed limits.  Two and a half to JFK, and something in-between to LGA. 3 bed rooms 2 baths. 1500sq ft, front view ground level. Eat in kitchen, dining room, sunken living room, and full 1500ft basement on ½ half acre surrounded by other undeveloped wooded lots. Not a mountain home. This is for year round.

This home is supported with a full walk out basement that runs the length of the entire house. Two-car garage with remote control. New roof and fresh paint inside and out.

Insulated windows, individual room electric heat with thermostat. Front measures 70 feet of brick with vinyl siding. The roof is brand new. There is a wood burning stove in basement capable of heating the whole house but will easily heat the basement should you choose to finish it. The basement is on a lower level with a walk out door and with windows. There is a built in automatic sump pump close to the water heater.

This view is the street, which is typical in this complex called Fawn Lake Forest. Great place to run, don’t forget to wave hello to the neighbors.

In a normal listing I would not get to give you these “impress ional details” Lucky for me I’m not the agent. One of the true marvels of this area in this day and age is when I arrive at the house, turn off my radio and get out of the car; I am struck by the pure silence. The area is so quite you can hear yourself breathing. It is actually so quiet it is difficult to overcome the ringing in your ears in order to appreciate how quiet it is. The stars are brilliant at night. And the pure fresh air will take your breath away. The Pocono’s are amazing (Just my opinion). You may want to know about the winters. Yes it does snow and it is beautiful. But don’t think for a moment you can get out of going to school or work just because the city (New York, Philadelphia) is crippled. No, you will need another excuse for not getting to your destination. The snowplows appear and remove snow before it has a chance to hit the ground. Funny but true. This Fawn Lake community and town know how to deal with snow and unlike most municipalities are experts at snow removal. I never missed a trip because of snow. Let me admit one difficulty since I am being so chatty. Fog IS an issue. In the mountains fog may settle in during the evening and that early morning drive will slow you down. So plan accordingly. I put fog lights on my car and found it very useful. Oh another thing. This is a protected area for deer. So PLEASE be careful while driving the beautiful tree lined curvy roads. The roads are well maintained but the deer do not assess the situation before darting out across the street. On a normal day it takes me 25 minutes to safely drive from my dads home down the mountain to HWY 84. The town of Hawley is 20 minutes away.

But that’s not all!

Fawn Lake Forest features 2 lakes, an outdoor pool, and a million dollar updated clubhouse with indoor pool.

This lake is walking distance from the house.

One lake is natural and one is man made. One is for powerboats one for sailing or rowboats. Don’t forget the tennis courts. These facilities are not available to the general public, homeowners and their guests get exclusive use.

It’s a wonderful drive and you will be really glad to own this hideaway as you return home from your adventures of life. Come check out this house, and get away from the big cities.

THIS JUST IN: Petroleum Companies are loosing their minds. Fuel prices are unbelievable. So why would you buy this house now; because for less than 200,000 dollars, you can live in spacious, quiet, beautiful surroundings, with taxes that won't eat you alive.
